The Missouri Department of Transportation has announced that two application cycles for transit funding assistance are now open.
- The FY 2027 State Transit Assistance application cycle is now open. The State Transit Assistance program assists public transit providers, defraying 50% of their transportation operating cost.
- The FY 2027 Missouri Elderly and Handicapped Assistance Program (MEHTAP) application cycle is now open. The MEHTAP program assists not-for-profits and governmental/public transit providers supporting the transportation of seniors and individuals with disabilities, defraying 50% of their transportation operating cost.
Applications are due April 1, 2026, for both of the above. The project period for funds is July 1, 2026 through June 30, 2027. Applications should be submitted via email to: motransit@modot.mo.gov. To learn more, visit the MoDOT website.
