After much discussion and consideration, the KCATA Board of Commissioners voted to restore bus fares. By June 2026, it will cost $2 to ride the bus. Discounted and free fares will be available to qualified people through social service agencies, schools, universities, healthcare providers and other organizations.
“Fares represent an important revenue generator that helps support on-street service. We believe that restoring fares will improve the overall rider experience for everyone,” Tyler Means KCATA Chief Mobility and Strategy Officer.
