The Mid-America Regional Council (MARC) is inviting the public to an in-person meeting on December 9 from 5-7 p.m. to share updates on the Bi-State Sustainable Reinvestment Corridor, a 24-mile corridor connecting Independence, Sugar Creek, Kansas City, Missouri, and Kansas City, Kansas. The meeting will present the selected bus rapid transit route, early station design concepts, and opportunities for attendees to provide input, with accommodations including a Spanish-language translator and transit access via RideKC route 24.
The corridor project study, now in Phase 2, aims to support high-capacity transit, improve pedestrian and bicycle infrastructure, and promote equitable economic development. It is backed by a $5.6 million USDOT RAISE grant and supported by regional partners including MARC, RideKC, and the participating cities. Seasonal refreshments and door prizes will also be offered at the event which is to be held at the Don Bosco Senior Center Community Room, located at 580 Campbell Street, Kansas City, MO.
