MoDOT Approves $13.3 Billion Plan including Transit and MEHTAP Funding

The Missouri Department of Transportation (MoDOT) approved the 2026-2030 Statewide Transportation Improvement Program (STIP), which details $13.3 billion in revenues including $6.7 million annually for transit operating assistance.   This  transit number reflects the line item coming out of the Governor’s budget bill signing on June 30.

MoDOT approved the budget on Wednesday, July 9. While the bill includes close to $100 million in federal funding from the FTA for transit, state investment totals approximately $11.7 million with $5 million for the MEHTAP program and $6.7 million for the state transit assistance line item including $5 million from  General Revenue and $1.7 million from the State Transportation Fund.

MoDOT’S STIP lists nearly 1,300 transportation projects that are planned between 2026 – 2030, which started July 1 and will run through June 30, 2030.
