Public Transit is on the Ballot this November

 

According to the American Public Transit Association’s (APTA) Center for Transportation Excellence, voters have supported transit in 26 out of 27 public transit measures on the ballot so far in 2024. The ballot measures span the U.S., from Chelan, WA to Anderson County, SC and many states in between. Voters will decide on over $52 billion in dedicated, multi-year funding for transit on November 5.

Ballot measures include:

San Francisco, CA:

Revenue type: New Business Ride-Hail Companies Tax

Transit revenue: $25,000,000 (annual)

Funding would contribute to: operations support for SFMTA’s Muni buses

 

Richland County, SC:
Revenue type: sales tax

Transit revenue: $990,000,000 (total)

Funding would contribute to: operations support for Central Midlands Regional Transit Authority (COMET)

 

Nashville, TN:

Revenue type: sales tax

Transit revenue: $2,284,500,000 (total)

Funding would contribute to: accelerated expansion of Nashville’s bus system, sidewalk and bike lane improvements, and traffic signal upgrades.
