MEET MPTA: Scott County Transit System

As a part of the Missouri Public Transit Association’s efforts to promote our members and the services they provide in MO, we launched a new series, MEET MPTA. This week we are highlighting the services provided by Scott Country Transit System, Inc.

Scott County Transit System, Inc. (SCTS) has been providing safe, efficient transportation service to Scott County residents since 1981. Each month, SCTS provides approximately 2,000 one-way trips to the elderly, handicapped and general public.

The transportation service provided by our system allows individuals to remain mobile and have an active life. This in turn helps the local economy by providing the means for these individuals to patronize local businesses, hospitals, doctors, dentists, etc. The transit service operates Monday through Friday, 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. and employs 10 drivers.

For 35 years, Scott County Transit System has traveled throughout this county providing a service that most individuals take for granted because they have a vehicle. “We hope to keep providing this service to our passengers and to continue expanding to reach other individuals who need our service,” said Marilyn Schlosser, Executive Director of Scott County Transit System, Inc.
