Tuesday Night: Public Meeting to Discuss Prospect MAX

(Kansas City, Mo. – March 17, 2014) KCATA, along with the City of Kansas City, Mo. is holding a public meeting Tuesday, March 18, to discuss a proposed MAX Bus Rapid Transit line on Prospect Ave. from Downtown to south Kansas City. The meeting will provide progress updates on the latest planning and design efforts, as well as the proposed funding for the Prospect MAX line.

Interested citizens will be able to view and comment on the proposed Prospect MAX route, including the downtown portion and the southern end of the route. KCATA will solicit feedback about the placement and design of both local bus stops and MAX stations along the route.  Local bus stops along Prospect may be consolidated and improved with the launch of MAX. The proposed TDD (Transportation Development District) funding mechanisms for the project will also be discussed.

Presentations will be made at 4:30 p.m. and 6 p.m., and will include Kansas City Councilman Michael Brooks and KCATA General Manager Mark Huffer. The rest of the public meeting will be open format, where the public can ask questions and leave feedback at various information stations.
