Columbia Mayor Bob McDavid listens to CyRide transit director Sheri Kyras as she describes the bus system and how it serves Iowa State University and the city of Ames, Iowa on Feb. 17, 2012 while riding public transport in the city of Ames, Iowa. ISU students pay a fee included in tuition and have a "free fare" program where they only have to show their student ID card to ride the busses. McDavid, other city officials, and MU students learned about CyRide on a visit to Ames to look at the transit system and obtain inspiration for improving Columbia's own public transportation.
