MPTA Announces “Transit Tuesdays” Advocacy Days at State Capitol During 2027 Missouri Legislative Session

The Missouri Public Transit Association (MPTA), in partnership with Citizens for Modern Transit (CMT), is teaming up with transit providers, transit riders, stakeholders, and other interested citizens from across the state in Jefferson City for Transit Tuesdays during Missouri’s 2027 Legislative Session.

Transportation is the key to moving Missouri forward, and there is an opportunity during the 2027 Legislative Session to underscore the importance of public transit, especially in light of cuts to funding in 2025 and 2026, a combined 64% reduction in state transit assistance since Governor Mike Kehoe took office.

Transit Tuesdays will include the following dates at the State Capitol in Jefferson City:

  • January 26, 2027
  • March 2, 2027
  • April 6, 2027

MPTA will be available to help set up meetings with legislators and will provide information on any hearings related to transit. We strongly encourage participants to attend any hearings that day related to transit, and visit with their respective legislators on the importance of transit and total transportation funding in Missouri.

We hope you will consider joining MPTA in our efforts by attending Transit Tuesdays in 2027. Now is the time to reverse course on the previous two year’s funding reductions and put transit funding back on track in 2027- we hope to see you at an upcoming Transit Tuesdays advocacy day.

Please let us know that you’ll be in attendance with us at the Capitol via the below form. Not able to physically attend but want to commit to contacting your legislators to show your support for transit? Click here to let the MPTA know who your legislators are and what you’ll be telling them.
