Fatigue is a serious safety risk in transit operations. To address this issue, FTA will host a webinar on July 22, 2026, at 1:00 PM Central Time to discuss fatigue and specifically address the recently published Safety Bulletin 26-01 on Transit Worker Fatigue. During this webinar, participants also will hear from a research expert on fatigue and fatigue management programs (FRMP) who will provide an in-depth view on the problem of fatigue and methods for addressing this and from a transit agency – Washington Metropolitan Area Transit Agency (WMATA) – with significant experience and expertise on this issue to provide its perspective on how to address fatigue in rail and bus operations using its FRMP.
