In 2026, the Missouri Public Transit Association (MPTA) is proud to celebrate 45 years of advocacy, collaboration, and leadership since its founding in 1981. For more than four decades, MPTA has worked to strengthen public transportation across Missouri by supporting transit providers, engaging policymakers, and elevating the voices of riders and communities who depend on transit.
This milestone reflects a legacy of dedication to mobility, economic opportunity, and quality of life across the entirety of the state of Missouri. As MPTA marks this anniversary, the association looks forward to continuing its mission of advancing safe, reliable, and accessible public transit for all Missourians.
