KCATA and Ride KC Announce Rider Advisory Council

 

The Kansas City Area Transportation Authority (KCATA) and Ride KC are looking for public transit users that are interested in improving the rider experience. The RideKC Rider Advisory Council will be made up of public transit users that help guide public transportation in the Kansas City area. The Rider Advisory Council will meet on a bi-monthly basis for a total of 6 meetings per year. Meetings will be held in-person with a virtual option. The first meeting will be held on Wednesday, February 19, at 4:30 PM. A chair and vice-chair will be selected and future meeting dates will be set at this meeting.

KCATA and RideKC are looking for those interested in the following aspects of transit to consider applying for the council:

  • Safety at stops and on the bus
  • Cleanliness of stops and vehicles
  • Overall customer satisfaction
  • Ease of system use
  • General areas of improvement
  • Accessing boarding locations
  • Community and rider engagement
  • Minor schedule adjustments to appropriately serve active stops

The Rider Advisory Council will be comprised of 15 people who are either active riders or are interested in using RideKC public transit in the future. KCATA is currently accepting applications online and in-person through Friday, January 24.
