The KC Streetcar Main Street Extension project reached a new milestone as the community celebrated 100% track completion during an event on December 2. Covering 3.5 miles and including 10 stations, the line extending service from Union Station to University of Missouri-Kansas City (UMKC) is expected to open for passenger service next summer. The 100% Track Completion Community Celebration included remarks from FTA Region VII Administrator Carrie Butler, Kansas City Mayor Quinton Lucas, KC Streetcar Authority Executive Director Tom Gerend and other community stakeholders.
