The CTAA’s State Leadership Award was presented to the MPTA for being a fierce advocate for public and community transportation at the state and local level. More specifically, the award recognized the organization for providing creative, effective and continuing training and technical assistance programs; demonstrating use of new concepts, strategies, procedures and policies to best support its local transit systems; and effectively communicating local concerns and priorities at the state and federal level.

“These awards give CTAA a platform to highlight the significant contributions made by individuals, agencies, systems, and partners in the community transportation industry nationwide,” shared CTAA Executive Director Scott Bogren.

Kimberly Cella, the executive director of the MPTA added, “The association released the 2023 Economic Impact Study of Transit in Missouri earlier this year. This crucial report helped to quantify the economic impact of public transit services in the state of Missouri and ultimately played a role in helping to secure historic levels of state funding for public transit for the second consecutive year. We’ve been working hard and are beyond grateful to have received an award of this caliber from the CTAA. It’s truly an honor.”
