Metro Transit in St. Louis recently announced the hiring of 83 new operators, including 17 Call-A-Ride operators, 10 MetroLink operators and 56 MetroBus operators.
Like transit agencies across Missouri and throughout the country, Metro Transit continues to deal with a significant operator shortage, but recent hiring events are moving the agency in the right direction. MPTA continues to support member agencies facing labor shortages through the sharing of best practices via MPTA Education Series events, supporting the development of a statewide transit operator apprentice program and promoting agency job openings and hiring events.
