MPTA welcomes KC Streetcar

The Missouri Public Transit Association welcomed the Kansas City Streetcar Authority as the newest member of the association.  The Kansas City Streetcar Authority (KCSA) is a not-for-profit organization formed for the purpose of managing, operating, and maintaining the streetcar as well as planning for future streetcar extensions. In addition to overseeing streetcar operations, the KCSA supports system branding, marketing, public communication, and community engagement.

While the KCSA is a separate entity, it works closely with the City of Kansas City, Missouri and the KC Area Transportation Authority.

Running from the River Market on the north end to Union Station and Crown Center on the south,  the KC Streetcar connects all the downtown neighborhoods with 16 platform stops and 2 miles of track. Streetcars arrive approximately every 10- 15 minutes during peak hours and is fare-free.
