Joplin set to Suspend Fixed Route Bus Service Due to Driver Shortage

Due to a driver shortage, the City of Joplin is suspending fixed route service on 11/23/22. The City will continue to provide prescheduled curb-to-curb demand response service within the cities of Joplin, Webb City, Carterville, Oronogo, Duquesne, and Duenweg. MAPS rides are available Monday-Friday, 6:30am-5:00pm. Riders need to call, 417-626-8607, between the hours of 8am and 5pm to schedule a MAPS ride. MAPS rides must be scheduled at least one day in advance, and City recommends 7 or more days advance for time specific trips (i.e. Doctor’s appointments and employment). Fixed Route service will return after the City can hire/train the six drivers needed to operate the system.
