Metro Celebrates 1 Year of Electric Buses

During the Summer of 2021, 18 of Metro Transit’s electric busses were debuted for the first time. This specific fleet consists of fourteen buses that are sixty-feet in length, along with four smaller buses that are forty-feet long.  These buses help to provide mobility that is environmentally friendly while still getting their passengers to their destinations. While they are doing wonders to the environment, these buses are also some of Metro’s most comfortable, and quiet options of public transit available.

Adding electric buses has saved the transit agency significantly with regards to fuel costs. Electric bus operating cost is estimated at 59 cents per mile.
