MPTA Recognizes Jake Jacobs for Service

The Missouri Public Transit Association (MPTA) Board of Directors recognized fellow board member Jake Jacobs for his decades of service to the MPTA and transit at its June 8, 2022 Board meeting.  Jacobs is stepping down from the MPTA Board as he retires from his role as Executive Director of the Developmental Disability Services of Jackson County – EITAS at the end of June.  He has served for more than ten years on the MPTA board.

EITAS is the local government organization that provides funding grants and direct services for over 3500 people in Jackson County with developmental disabilities.  Jacobs has served in the non-profit field and local government entities for more than 35 years.

“The work that Jake has done for public transit locally and state-wide has impacted more people on a daily basis than most people do in a lifetime. On behalf of KCATA, we thank Jake for his dedication to service and wish him all the best in his well-deserved retirement, “ said fellow board member Robbie Makinen President and CEO, Kansas City Area Transportation Authority
