RideKC Next Changes In April, Most Routes Affected

A simpler, easier, and more efficient network. More timed connections in common locations like East Village, KU Med, 31st & Van Brunt, 3-Trails, and Boardwalk Square. RideKC Flex service expands and will modernize north of the Missouri River with app-based booking and vehicle tracking. Sunday service is increasing in most areas in response to ridership trends. A new east-west route in the Northland (252 Barry Road), a new north-south route in Eastern Jackson County (340 Lee’s Summit-Independence), and the new 40 Broadway are being postponed until additional staff is available. Also, a separate effort to improve Johnson County routes will implement in phases throughout 2022 and will be integrated with RideKC Next.

A frequent grid, seven days a week, to connect more people to opportunities. All frequent routes will provide service every 15 minutes on weekdays and Saturdays later in 2022. Troost MAX, Prospect MAX, and 31 31st Street remain frequent as they are today. NOTE: Improved frequency is delayed until later in 2022 due to staffing issues, but routes will change in April 2022 in support of those planned improvements. All other fixed routes will operate hourly until additional staff is trained and available.

Route-by-route information –

These changes will take effect Sunday, April 3.
