The FTA released a Notice of Funding Opportunity (NOFO) on January 17, 2020, soliciting projects for proposals for the Low or No Emissions Program (Low-No Program). $130 million of FY 2020 funds are available for the purchase or lease of low or no emission vehicles as well as related equipment or facilities. Proposals must be submitted electronically through Grants.gov website by 11:59 PM Eastern Time on March 17, 2020.
“The U.S. Department of Transportation is committed to improving safety, rebuilding our transportation infrastructure, and preparing for the future with new technologies,” said FTA Acting Administrator K. Jane Williams.
The purpose of the Low-No Program is to support the transition of the nation’s transit fleet to the lowest polluting and most energy-efficient transit vehicles. The Low-No Program provides funding to State and local governmental authorities for the purchase or lease of zero-emission and low-emission transit buses, including acquisition, construction, and leasing of required supporting facilities. An Eligible Applicant is a designated recipient of FTA grants, states, local governmental authorities, and Indian Tribes.
A webinar for both this opportunity will be held on February 6, 2020, from 2-3:30 p.m. EST. Register for the webinar.
