RideKC’s newest MAX line is almost ready to roll. Prospect MAX will start on Monday, Dec. 9. Prospect MAX will offer frequent service, upgraded MAX vehicles, traffic signal priority and fewer stops for faster service. Level boarding at several high ridership stops will also help people get on and off the bus more easily and more quickly. The new Prospect MAX stations will include touchscreen technology and free WiFi, and there has been more than 40,000 feet of sidewalks built and repaired along the route.
MAX is RideKC’s bus rapid transit line (BRT) serving highly populated residential and commercial corridors in Kansas City, Mo. The premium service is currently projecting to run along Prospect Ave. and into downtown KCMO. The MAX has specialized branding and messaging that sets it apart from other KCATA vehicles, positioning the brand as a premium service. MAX vehicles have a distinctively sleek design, while MAX stations are substantially larger than standard bus stops and features include real-time arrival information that helps transit riders know exactly when MAX will arrive.
