Trolly Trail Bike & Pet Oasis Now Open in KC

On July 17th, City officials celebrated the dedication of the St. Andrews Trolly Trail Bike and Pet Oasis located next to the newly remodeled HJ Youth & Community Center.  Bicyclists and pet owners were out at the event to experience the new oasis!

This project is a multi-organization public/private partnership between the KCATA, City of Kansas City, Missouri, and St Andrews outreach ministry of HJ’s Youth & Community Center. The bike repair station is the 2nd one to be funded along a 6th district trail in South Kansas City and an effort to support bike user-ship in the region.   The first repair station was installed at the Trailside Center at 99th & Holmes, a trailhead/parking lot for the Indian Creek Trail, in the heart of the historic 3-Trails Corridor.

Councilman Taylor noted, “This oasis will be a great place for Brookside families to stop and refresh along the trolley trail.  It is right next to the new, awesome community center.”

Councilman McManus stated, “We are very excited to add this amenity along the trail and know it will get a lot of use.”

“We have this water fountain oasis where anyone can get a drink or their pets if they’re thirsty,” said Zach Beall, the community center coordinator. “We welcome anyone into this space.”
