At their monthly meeting today, the North Springfield Betterment Association (NSBA) awarded City Utilities of Springfield with their Commercial Betterment Award for the construction of the City Utilities Transit Center. Every month, the NSBA recognizes the efforts of community members, organizations, and businesses in the improvement of the appearance of the north Springfield community. The Commercial Betterment Award is given to businesses and organizations that improve north Springfield by improving a commercial property or introducing a new business to the area.
This award is the latest in a series of awards and recognition that City Utilities has received for the new Transit Center, located at 211 N. Main Avenue. The facility opened in May 2016 and serves as a transit and multimodal hub for the city bus system, and the downtown area.
