MPTA Education Series focuses on TDD Financing for Transit

MPTA announces its next Educational Series Event scheduled for Thursday, March 1, 2018: TDD Financing for Transit in Kansas City, MO. Find out how the TDD funding mechanism played a key role in financing the successful KC Streetcar and how it might work in your community to finance transit.

The event will feature a panel of experts including Doug Stone (TDD Legal Counsel), David Johnson with the Kansas City RTA, and Tom Gerend, Executive Director of the KC Streetcar Authority.  Presentation highlights will include:

 

  1. The technical aspects of Missouri’s TDD legislation
  2. Project types that qualify for TDDs
  3. KC Streetcar’s analysis of funding options with the TDD
  4. KC Streetcar’s experience with the TDD
  5. Experience with legal challenges
  6. Considerations for further modification of the TDD Act

 

The event will be held from 10 a.m. to 12 noon at The Catholic Diocese Offices in Downtown Kansas City
