City Manager Bruce Woody named MPTA Board member Andy Clements, AICP, as the new director for the Public Works & Transportation Department.
Mr. Clements is a graduate of Missouri Western State University and has been an employee of the city of St. Joseph since 1995. His career with the city has been entirely within the public works department, first as a transportation planner, then as transportation operations manager. Andy was promoted to assistant director for the department in August 2000, and has served as interim director on two occasions. Andy has a proven record of experience managing the department’s diverse areas of responsibility and technical subject matter. Andy has the designation of a certified planner.
Mr. Woody said, “I am proud of Andy’s many accomplishments on behalf of the public works department during his tenure. He has a heart for public service and it shows in the way he works with the public and his fellow employees. Andy has a demonstrated history of implementing cost efficiency programs and for working with the department’s many stakeholders to achieve the best outcomes on public works projects.”
