On Monday, Aug. 7, the MPTA will host Livable Communities expert Nidhi Gulati, Program Manager with Emerald Network, LivableStreets Alliance in Boston, as its keynote at the MPTA Annual Luncheon at 11:30 a.m. Following the luncheon, Ms. Gulati will lead an intensive Placemaking Workshop on Monday afternoon from 1:30 to 4:45 p.m. focusing on the new City Utilities Transit Center. The workshop will provide local stakeholders the opportunity to begin the discussion about a VISION for the area around the new Center. In partnership with Olsson Associates & Downtown Springfield Association, Nidhi will help residents outline what they would like to see around the Center. This vision will mark the start of the discussion for Springfield on what is possible around transit. Whether you are a resident, elected official, planner, interested in building livable communities around transit or someone just interested in the future of Springfield, you will not want to miss this workshop (Registrations are limited).
