Dorothy Yeager, Executive Director of Oats, will become the next MPTA President on January 1.

On January 1, the  Missouri Public Transit Association will welcome their new officers. Vice President Dorothy Yeager will take over leadership of the MPTA as President. Dorothy has been with OATs, Inc. since 1987.  In 2012, Dorothy became the Executive Director of OATS, Inc. and that same year joined the MPTA Board.

Taking over the role of Vice President will be current Secretary/Treasurer Drew Brooks. Drew has worked for the City of Columbia’s public transit since 2008, and has been a member of MPTA since 2012.

Kelly Turner will be taking over the role of Secretary/Treasurer for the 2017 MPTA Board. Kelly is currently the Director of Transit at City Utilities of Springfield. Kelly took on this role in May of 2015, after spending 11 years as a consulting engineer in the private sector.

MPTA would also like to recognize outgoing President Cindy Baker for all of her hard work and dedication. Cindy has served as the Board President since 2015. She will continue raising awareness for transit as the Chief Communications Officer for the Kansas City Area Transportation Authority as well as by serving on the MPTA Board as the Past President.

“Cindy has been instrumental in taking MPTA to the next level under her leadership and commitment to transit in MO. The association owes her a debt of gratitude for re-energizing the organization and our membership base. There is still much work to be done as we continue to bring value to our members and help them  carry the message to stakeholders in every community of the importance of transportation. While it will be difficult to fill her shoes, I look forward to her counsel as I begin my new role as president on January 1.” Dorothy Yeager, incoming MPTA President.
