MPTA 35th Anniversary Reception set for Aug. 14, 2016

Join MPTA to celebrate 35 years of transit advocacy in MO on Aug. 14

Join transit providers from across Missouri at the historic Union Station Board Room . . .

The Missouri Public Transit Association will be hosting a 35th Anniversary reception on Sunday, Aug. 14 from 7 to 8 p.m. at the historic Kansas City Union Station Board Room. This is a great opportunity for MPTA members and Missouri delegates at the Transit Midwest Conference to begin building the necessary network to move statewide financial support of transit forward.  The lack of state funding for capital and operating limits the opportunities to build off the current transit successes in the state to create a stronger economy through transit investment.

MPTA transit provider members provide more than 67 million rides almost everywhere for everybody every day in Missouri, and they employ thousands in our communities.  Through the work of the staff, board and our members, we are moving the organization to the next level with regards to education, advocacy for transit and membership development.

Our goals in 2016 include:

*Elevate the status of transit in Missouri.
* Build new coalitions to expand the transit advocacy base.
* Promote and support MPTA members.
