MAX Offers More Frequent Service For CELEBRATION AT THE STATION

(Kansas City, Mo. – May 23, 2013) The Kansas City Area Transportation Authority’s Main St. MAX bus rapid transit line will offer more frequent service for Celebration at the Station on Sunday, May 26, before and after the concert and fireworks display.

From 5 p.m. until the start of the concert, MAX will increase its service, operating every 15 minutes instead of every 30 minutes between the Waldo Park-and-Ride and the 3rd & Grand Park-and-Ride. The first additional southbound MAX bus from 3rd & Grand will begin at 5:54 p.m. After the fireworks display, MAX buses will be waiting to serve concertgoers on the return trip.

Regular fare on MAX and Metro buses is $1.50.

About Celebration at the Station

The FREE outdoor concert featuring the Kansas City Symphony starts at 8 p.m. between Union Station and Liberty Memorial. The Symphony, led by Music Director Michael Stern, will perform patriotic favorites against the backdrop of Kansas City's historic Union Station. The fireworks display begins after the concert.
