From OATS Press Release:
(St. Joseph, Missouri, February 10, 2011) – Billy Golden, a Northwest Region driver for OATS, Inc. is celebrating his 15-year anniversary with the not-for-profit transportation provider. Billy says his 15 years of service is due to being able to work "for the best people you could possibly work for."
"It is a really good job," says Billy. "The office I work for in St. Joseph is the best. The people are helpful and really nice. I don’t have to work and could retire, but I enjoy the people I work for and with so much. I have never met a person I didn’t like in the whole organization."
Billy, who does a lot of Medicaid transportation, says that anyone thinking about working for OATS should realize that a large percentage of OATS’ customers are elderly and disabled, and a good driver must have the demeanor to provide the door to door service they need and be willing to accommodate them. He feels that for those who do, the work is incredibly rewarding.
Beth Langley, Northwest Regional Director for OATS says, "I have had the pleasure of working with Billy Golden for the past fifteen years. He is a hardworking and dependable employee and makes taking care of his passengers his number one priority. He always has a kind word to say about his riders and is pleased to share his gardening treasures with them and the local senior centers. He takes pride in the help that he and fellow OATS drivers are able to provide for the riders of Northwest Missouri. I enjoy the stories he shares and appreciate his ability to get the word out about OATS. Mr. Golden is a great employee who is always ready and willing to answer our call for help."
