(Bridgeton, Missouri, November 23, 2010) – Brenda Merseal, an East Region driver, began working for OATS, Inc. twenty-five years ago. What has kept her with OATS so long are the people, who she says are "just like family".
Originally from De Soto, Missouri, Brenda became interested in OATS after seeing an advertisement. She immediately knew she would enjoy working for OATS, so Brenda applied to the office in Kirkwood. Soon thereafter, Brenda was hired.
These days, Brenda seems pretty pleased with her decision. "I love the people," says Brenda. "We have so much fun together, and OATS is a great company."
Brenda prefers OATS to her previous places of employment because it is less stressful, as she doesn’t have to worry about a boss constantly looking over her shoulder. In addition, Brenda loves driving because it allows her to feel that she is participating in the world.
During her downtime between drives, Brenda keeps busy taking walks, completing paperwork, washing her van and sweeping the inside of the bus. When she is not working, Brenda loves to bowl, shop and spend time with her family. She and her husband Raymond have two children and three grandkids.
Brenda is not planning on leaving OATS anytime soon. She says, "No, I will not be retiring; that is, unless I win the lottery!"
