OATS, Inc. Celebrates Southwest Region Coordinator for 25 Years of Service

(Springfield, Missouri, November 9, 2010) – Donna Short began working for OATS as a driver in November 1985. Now, after twenty-five years of service, Donna works inside the office as an administrator.

Originally from Fairgrove, MO, 28 miles from Springfield, Donna knew she wanted to work for OATS after seeing the buses around town. "The reason I wanted to do this job was to help people," says Donna. "I have always helped my mother and grandmother, and when I first took the position as a driver, it was extremely gratifying work."

Prior to her employment with OATS, Donna worked at the Hilton Motel, H&R Block and a garment factory in Bolivar, MO. She had no prior experience in the transportation industry, but lots of experience helping people. "I have stayed with OATS for so long because I’m just comfortable here," Donna explains. "I feel really needed and safe."

Donna and her husband, James, have been married 41 years. In addition to Donna’s 25-year anniversary with OATS, the couple has an upcoming wedding anniversary in December. They have two daughters and four grandchildren. In their spare time, Donna and James enjoy canoe racing.
