Historical Sedalia Building Renovated to House Modern Transportation

OATS PRESS RELEASE:

(Sedalia, Missouri, October 20, 2009) – OATS, Inc. is pleased to announce the relocation of their Midwest Regional offices to the historical, newly renovated Amtrak depot. The new multi-modal transportation center, made possible in part through partnership and coordination with the Downtown Sedalia group, has been in progress for more than eight years. It will host offices for OATS, SDDI and other potential transportation tenants in addition to housing the Amtrak depot.

Sedalia is fortunate to be able to preserve this historical landmark, where originally hotels housed the first stations for the Missouri Pacific Railroad. In 1889 the Missouri Pacific Station was built on the site of one of the former hotels. Another renovation was made in 1951, in an effort to modernize the look of train travel.
