At the end of each calendar year, City Utilities' Transit employees take some time to reflect on excellent job performance in the bus operator group and select a bus operator for the Driver of the Year award. T. J. Davis has been selected as City Utilities Transit's 2008 Driver of the Year. Criteria for the award include good attendance, excellent job performance and accident free driving (bus operators here at City Utilities average 25,000 miles each year on their route).
T. J. has been a bus operator with City Utilities since 1995. He currently operates our line 6 route which serves the southwest area of Springfield. T. J. has worked very hard for this award, this is the second time he’s won this award, he was also recognized as Transit’s 2003 Driver of the Year. T. J. has made the list of finalists for this award six times, which is quite an accomplishment. T. J. truly believes in the service we provide to the public, he is very much focused on the customer. Bus operators have a unique opportunity to make a positive difference in the lives of our customers. We appreciate T. J.’s contribution to Transit, to City Utilities and to this community.
