SUMMARY:MPTA Education Series Presents: Results of MO Statewide Transit Needs Assessment
DESCRIPTION:The Missouri Public Transit Association (MPTA) selected St. Louis-based Lochmueller Group – a full-service survey\, planning\, engineering and environmental firm – to lead a Statewide Transit Needs Assessment Study last fall. Lochmueller Group will present the results of those findings as well as policy recommendations moving forward.  The firm examined public transit access across Missouri\, identified existing and potential service gaps and helped establish a guide for the development of optimum personal mobility as transit providers are forced to make service modifications and respond to changing rider demographics. \n“Personal mobility matters as it is the sole means by which many are able to get where they need to go\,” commented Kimberly Cella\, executive director of the Missouri Public Transit Association. “We want to get a better grasp of the current landscape and identify next steps in furthering public transit access for Missourians. \nTime: 9:00 a.m. to 11 a.m.\nDate: July 8\, 2022\nLocation: Zoom\nRSVP Required –Click here to register now!

SUMMARY:MPTA Education Series: TRANSIT CATALYST FOR COMMUNITY RESPONSE
DESCRIPTION:CTAA Highlights Case Studies of Success During the Pandemic \nAn unknown foe\, unfolding crisis and unprecedented impact. Transit agencies\, just like every other element of American life\, faced these three challenges in 2020 during the height of the global COVID- 19 pandemic. In order to better understand how agencies served their communities and persevered through the last year and a half\, the Community Transportation Association of America (CTAA) published an analysis of how transit proved to be a catalyst for community response. \nHear from CTAA Executive Director Scott Bogren and Senior Communications\, Events\, Legislative Specialist Taylor Klocke\, and report author Stewart Mader\, Founder & Director of Advocacy for VaxTransit\, during the latest MPTA Education Series Event on Oct. 5 on how transit deployed their systems to help their communities\, first to reduce food insecurity\, then to ensure equity in vaccine access on a widespread scale. The report concludes with six recommendations to leverage the new partnerships and flexibility necessitated by the COVID-19 era to durably improve access to opportunity. \nDon’t miss the chance to hear the results and discuss opportunities for Missouri providers. \nTuesday\, October 5\, 2021\n11 a.m.\nZoom \nRegistration required

SUMMARY:MPTA Vendor Spotlight: Innovative Transit Solutions to Improve Your Fleet
DESCRIPTION:As transit fleets look for ways to improve their service experience\, not only for riders\, but also for operators\, transit managers\, and their communities as a whole\, more and more innovative solutions are needed.  Reducing emissions with alternative fuels or vehicle options\, or installing mobile digital video recording with live tracking and streaming capabilities are two ways to make these sorts of improvements. \nChris Ishmael\, president of CWI Digital Systems\, will discuss the benefits to the entire transit organization of installing mobile digital video recording with live tracking and streaming capabilities. Eric Lawson\, a fuel consultant with MEG Corp\, will talk about biodiesel as a low-carbon\, renewable alternative to diesel fuel that can be used in existing diesel vehicles and equipment and stored and dispensed through existing infrastructure. Both solutions are available to be installed in existing fleets to improve performance and outcomes. \nTime: 12 p.m. CST\nDate: August 17\, 2021\nLocation: Zoom\nRSVP Required – Click here to register now!
